As hosts, we want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and to assist with any other aspects of your visit to Golden Bay, New Zealand.
It is our pleasure to host you in our corner of the “North West”. Golden Bay has many attractions and, whether you are staying one day or longer, we want you to enjoy your stay in our slice of paradise.
We have provided for your privacy by providing a seating area in each guest room, a semi-private deck and a purpose-built guest lounge, where you can join us for drinks and to meet and share experiences with your fellow guests. Or you may simply choose to relax in this space, listen to music or watch television or a range of New Zealand movies and documentaries. Alternatively, you may want to join us in the main lounge, to share experiences or discuss travel plans.
Here at Twin Waters, we feel privileged to live in this beautiful environment. We believe in protecting this superb area of Golden Bay and particularly the Twin Waters setting. We believe that our guests who venture this far from “civilisation” and take on the Takaka Hill will think as we do and act responsibly. A copy of the “Eco-wise travel guide” from the New Zealand Ministry for the Environment is available, and we are pleased to make a copy for you to take away if you so wish.
At Twin Waters we rely heavily on nature to produce our power and water, and assist us in managing waste. We also try to minimise our dependence on external energy. Trish and Mike have been in the hospitality business for 20 years and we take pride in creating a relaxing atmosphere for our guests. We have a passion for travelling and love meeting fellow travellers and sharing experiences. Hosting at Twin Waters Lodge is a distillation of the best of our experiences while travelling in more than 40 countries covering all parts of the world over the past 40 years. The rooms at Twin Waters lodge all contain photographs and artifacts collected during our travels. At Twin Waters Lodge, we offer a “wrap-around” service that will cater to all your needs while travelling.
In his “spare” time, Mike is a food scientist, working part-time for the prestigious Riddet Institute at Massey University. Trish is a photographer and author of several books, including “Emails from Africa” and “Twin Waters Gourmet”, which contains recipes for meals available at Twin Waters.
