We are situated in the north-western corner of the South Island, among some of the most varied scenery and activities New Zealand has to offer.
We have internationally-themed ensuite guest rooms with their own private decks and a dedicated guest lounge for your relaxation and enjoyment. Our guests are also welcome to make use of our library with an extensive collection of New Zealand books.
Our lodge features curved wooden ceilings and walls of glass, with sweeping views of salt marsh estuary and hills covered with native forest.
You’ll find a mini-bar in your room and tea and coffee are available throughout the day. We provide breakfast fixings as part of the tariff and you can make your breakfast in our African themed guest lounge / dining / kitchenette at any time to suit yourself.
Please note that dinner service is now available some of the time – depending on our other commitments. Please advise well ahead of time if you would like us to do dinner.
You can book ahead if you wish to have dinner with us. Our three-course dinners are served at 7:30 p.m. in our spacious dining room. The food we serve is very much dependent upon the local produce available on any given day. We have an extensive wine cellar, predominantly showing off New Zealand’s fine wines, and some international selections are available. These can be purchased to savour while relaxing on our wrap-around decks at the end of your day or to enjoy with your meal – or both if the spirit takes you.
